Sustainable hotel linens are sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers and blankets made with less energy and water, tested for harmful substances, and built to last long enough that a property replaces them less often. International Linens makes them in a mill in Faisalabad, Pakistan that runs about 70% on its own solar power, with processing certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I, and supplies hotel groups and hospitality distributors by the container.
What makes hotel linen sustainable
- Energy. Weaving, finishing and stitching powered largely by on-site solar rather than grid or diesel.
- Chemistry. Bleaching and finishing certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I, the strictest class in the standard, so the finished fabric is tested for harmful substances at the limit set for baby articles (certificate 2026OK1630, AITEX Spain).
- Fibre options. Recycled-cotton and organic-cotton blends on request, alongside standard cotton-polyester and CVC.
- Durability. Constructions and hems chosen for hundreds of commercial wash cycles. A sheet that lasts twice as long halves the fibre, water and freight per night sold.
- Vertical integration. Yarn to sealed container under one roof, so there is no transport between a weaver, a processor and a stitching unit.
Where to buy sustainable hotel linens from a professional supplier
Hotels usually buy through hospitality distributors or linen rental companies; hotel groups and distributors buy from the mill. Either way, ask the supplier for the mill’s energy source, the OEKO-TEX certificate number, fibre options and wash-life evidence. Durability is the biggest sustainability lever
Hotels replace linen because it greys, thins or tears, not because it is old. Whiteness set in our own processing unit, hems that outlast the fabric and constructions chosen for the laundry process all push replacement further out. For a 200-room property changing linen daily, extending sheet life from 120 to 200 washes removes hundreds of sheets a year from purchasing and from the waste stream.
